SD STRENGTH - UNIT 16 SHEFFIELD
My name is Siobhan, also known as Shiv. I have a 1st Class Degree in Sport and Exercise Science and over 10 years experience in the Health and Fitness industry working as a class instructor, exercise referral specialist, wellness practitioner, head coach of a women’s weight training club, fitness qualification assessor and most recently self employed strength and fitness coach who has now opened a semi private training facility called Unit16. I believe this gives me a wealth of knowledge and experience to help people reach their goals.
My previous sporting experience includes county level sprinting and heptathlon up to 18 years old, when I went to University I moved to Rugby union and rowing. I continued to play rugby for a few years after university until I got my nose broken and decided I didn’t want the risk of being hit in the face anymore. This is when I moved over to Olympic weightlifting after finding my love for strength training, I competed at a national level at the English championships for a few years and then I discovered my true love and calling... Strongwoman! I competed for the first time in 2019 and managed to qualify for Britain’s strongest woman in the light weight category! In 2020/21 despite the uncertainty surrounding the corona virus pandemic I managed to win the title of Midlands Strongest Woman, qualify for 2020 Britain’s Strongest Woman and competed at the 2021 Official Strongman Games in Florida.

PackagesGSWS is a 90-minute strength training program for like-minded ladies who want to get stronger, improve lifting technique, reduce risk of injury and improve their confidence lifting weights. The sessions cater for all abilities from complete beginner to more advanced lifters. The sessions involve an effective warm up, the big three compound lifts squat, bench, deadlift with a variety of accessory lifts to improve core strength, stability, body awareness and muscle definition. We then complete an appropriate cool down after the session has finished.

PackagesGFWS is a 45 minute fitness class focusing on strength, muscular endurance and fitness conditioning based around circuit training and HIIT (high intensity interval training) methods. There will be lots of fun equipment used such as battle ropes, sleds, slam balls, hurdles and plyo boxes. You are guaranteed to get sweaty and burn lots of calories in the most fun and effective way possible.
